An 8 meter boat would suit our budget and physical abilities.

But a 7.3m (24ft) boat wasn't big enough for Mr. Picky!

Boats are always turning up so once my cataract op is over we could continue the quest.

You can continue your quest while waiting for and recovering from the op, otherwise by the time that's done and you start looking, then find, check out and gain ownership of a boat yet another season will be over.

(Also, didn't you already have one eye done? Speaking as someone who has done all my voyaging (indeed my whole life) with only one functioning eye, I regard using two eyes as shameless self-indulgence! {And see what I did there? )

But that very nice Van de stat could be a good buy,it’s pass the mighty Biscay and Galicia has three airports only 2 hours from Gatwick
