Some good news for those of us who drive from the UK to our boats in Europe

The headline (new style number plates & driving licences) isn't, but if you read further down, it says "UK drivers who hold photocard licences will not need an international driving permit to drive in any of the 27 EU member states, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland or Liechtenstein. UK drivers won’t need to display a GB sticker in most EU countries if their number plate has GB or GB with a Union Flag on it."

So that's sort of like freedom of movement isn't it?

What's the time limit for temporary importation of a car in the the EU? You may be able to drive it there, but if you're planning on a season's sailing, you might find VAT due on the car.
