I have acquired an old wooden boat which I believe may be a Solent Seagull. It is 15 foot long and the sails have a seagull on them and the number K1788. The boat was built at Knight and Pink Marine,Tichfield, Fareham. If anyone could give me any more information about my boat or the boatbuilders I would be most gratefull.I have pictures which I coud email if neccessary.

Try these links from Google

<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.lossc.co.uk/history.htm>Lee on Solent SC</A> bottom of the page
<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.ncsc.co.uk/ms200309.htm>Netley Cliff SC</A> bottom of the page-Boat of the Month

Both clubs are near to Tichfield and would probably have more history if you contact them direct.

Hillhead Chandlery is owned and run by the Pinks, and they have been involved in boating on the Solent for a long time.

Perhaps they were involved in the Solent Seagul, as Titchfield is very near.
