Solent good points

Forget all the hype ....

GO FOR IT ....... its a great area and just because so many others agree and keep boats there, doesn't mean to say its overcrowded ....

As they say - they can't all be wrong .....

Because it's the main sailing area to serve the South East of the UK, the part of the country that has the highest population density and wealth.

There are areas of the country which are just as good places to sail, but which have a lower population density and very much less wealth, for example the Clyde. These places are therefore much quieter. I hope it stays that way.

Quiet and not so quiet

Some like it quiet and lone sailing ...... some like it hot and frenzied.

It would make more sense for me to sail east coast, but I choose to stay Solent based........ funny but I'm not the only one I know who chooses the same.

When back in UK - I take up the opportunity to see Solent in both guises ..... weekdays - berths avaialable all over the shoot, weekends - you better hurry up and get there before the hordes ..... But still enjoy ALL times spent there.

I delivered my previous boat to Brighton for the buyer - and was thoroughly unimpressed by its location and possibilities. The only advantage I could see was ??????? can't think of one actually.

As a question ...... where do you go to from Brighton apart from Channel hops etc., at least in Solent you have numerous places to go in only a short hop ......

Honestly - I'm looking forward to it! The thing that's cheering me most is the fact we're setting out tomorrow to be in Chi on Sunday. Can't wait!
