Met a SCG yesterday who said that group visits to SCGHQ can be arranged.

Anyone fancy it? We could set something up fpr those dead days after the turn of the year when a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of conquests new, and an old man's fancy turns to thoughts of antifouling.

When I was part of the emergency response team of the oil company I worked for in Aberdeen, we were taken to the Aberdeen CG centre. Partly a get to know each other, and part training for us.

Definately well worth the effort if you can get the opportunity.

I expect your right Brendan. I've heard that you Stinkies don't have much memory retention. I suppose it comes from sniffing all those Petro-Chemical fumes.

That feels good. I havn't insulted you for quite a while!

Driving past one (week)day a couple of years ago, I stopped and knocked on the door, completely unannounced, and asked if i could look around. I was given a very thorough tour of the facility, and they even turned up my CG66 details on their computer to check it was up to date. It was very enlightening, and I thoroughly recommend a visit. Whilst on the subject, how about a trip to VTS in Southampton - I gather they will accept interested parties too?

Re: VTS

No MrG, VTS is Vessel Traffic Services, those people that control all the commercial shipping, including the cruise liners, tankers and containerships in the Southampton and Portsmouth areas. Next time I'm down at the boat, I'll make some enquiries
