Solent CG Overspoke Mayday on C16

Anyone else hear the automated weather message from Solent CG on Ch16 today that overspoke a Mayday?

Feels like they should listen on 16 for 30 seconds and cancel any automated routine transmissions as required.

Automated weather message? Is that announcing a maritime safety information broadcast?

Is it possible you could hear the mayday but the CG mast could not?

I would assume that regardless of mayday or not that the CG listen before transmitting - and if transmissions are automated there would be automated “listen before transmitting”.

So are the pre-announcements of MSIB in the Solent done automatically? Is this new? Are your broadcasts themselves (on the other channels) also automated?
