I'm on my phone at the mo so typing isnt that easy.Lets have some feedback then,
Did you sell private or through a broker , have you sold to another forum member, did you get a decent price, ardour buying another?
Well done, your website & photos were excellent, looks like someone has purchased a nice boat.
Smart move, get out before the market goes south. After the weather this summer it is the best thing to do. Helps stop leaking money too....
Not yet john - Prior to the deposit being paid we negotiated a completion for mid August so we've still got the use of her till then.Has she actually gone now Bernie? She's as good an example of that model as anyone would wish to find; I'm just surprised it took so long!
So any plans for a replacement or is that it for now?

OK so now I'm in fron t of a keyboard here goes.....
Having sold my beautiful Sealine F43 I suppose I should be happy, but the truth is I’m not! I guess I might be happy if I was moving on to a new boat, but at least for the immediate future I’m leaving the marine life, and so as a consequence I feel like a huge part of me is being taken away.
I’ve had some of the most fantastic times on board Lady Jazz and will cherish the memories. I’ve met some great people on the way and had loads of good advice through this forum. I definitely intend to return to the boating world so you ain’t seen the last of me yet.
I sold the boat my-self, without the aid of the brokers, using nothing more sophisticated than Ebay and a website.
Ebay was used as a means to drive traffic to my website ( which my son produced) and the pictures were taken by someone that knows how to use a camera, unlike the vast majority of boat brokers.
It really was that simple. In selling the boat this way, I saved just short of a whopping £10,000 in brokers fees. I was determined from the start of the sales process that the useless brokers wouldn’t get their hands on my beauty. In the majority of cases they make a proper mess of marketing the boats they are selling on behalf of their clients, and to be honest I’m completely bemused why these clients tolerate this marketing shoddy “service”. In my opinion, most of the marketing they do is cr4p, and it’s only made good when they bring the boats they are selling to the big marketplace websites i.e Rightboat, Yachtworld etc. They do little for their money and in the few instances when I’ve been involved with brokers and they’ve “shown” me a boat they have on their book, it soon becomes apparent they know absolutely nothing about the boat they are showing me.
Six months ago I sat in front of one of the major brokers and tried without success to negotiate a better deal than the 6% they were quoting and they point blank refused to budge. That’s their prerogative of course, but in refusing to negotiate they confirmed my previous suspicions - they are nothing short of leech that think we, the paying public have no other alternatives. I walked from that office determined that they would get the privilege of selling my boat.
Sorry, I seem to have gone off on one!! That wasn’t my intention but I do feel very strongly about it. Boatbrokers make estate agents look like Mother Teresa!
Anyway, back to the point….. I’ve had a ball with the 3 boats I’ve had in the last 4 seasons and have benefited greatly from being a member of this forum. I will stick around the forum and sometime in the future will be back with another boat of some sort.
