Solar Vents

As winter aproaches my mind turns to the black mildew. I was wander if solar vents worth having and is it worth lining the ceiling with loft insulation to help stop condensation? The Vetus catalogue seems to say they are a waste of time.

I had two of them on my Seaward 23. They were OK and kept the heads smelling fresh but did little or nothing to stop the winter condensation. I have them in my new boat but it is also lined with Alcantara. There is no condensation now so its obviously the cladding that matters. Try the insulation.
