Does a Solara charge controller prevent the charge in the battery reversing and going back to panel. If not what do I need to instal to stop this happening, or am I worrying about something that won’t happen. Only a 80w panel that is a trickle on a swinging mooring.

All charge controllers will prevent reverse current.

What Richard says except if you are adding solar panels to a Rutland wind generator controller when each panel must have a blocking diode.
