Is there any proprietary poles on the market on which to mount said item. Space is at a premium on my yacht and I'd like a pole on the stern quarter. The yacht is in Greece is a place on reknowned for its engineering abilities so getting it made there could be thwarted with problems. I am however driving out later in the season so could transport it.

There was a thread only a few days ago with a link to a commercial single pole adjustably mount for PV panels. The concept looked good, but I think it was pretty expensive. (might have been on PBO/Scuttlebutt/Liveaboard)

Merlin, if you can come up with a mounting kit you could be on to a winner.

Just make sure the frame is substantial enough to withstand the wind.
I say this as I noticed today that the bilge keel Southerly Pilot house(36?) that is ashore next to me in Arisaig has a rather unusual mast installed for his aerogen.-Made out of what appears to be 2 inch thick wall stainless about 8 foot long and stayed it is currently lying across his cockpit being bent at right angle just above where it is secured to his pushpit.
Actually thats what a wind of 120 knots did to it in recent gales.
I am just glad that the boatyard insisted on taking down his mainmast before the gales hit.
He was quite secure with the idea of keeping the mast up as it was a bilge keeler.
(If the owner uses this site boat otherwise looks alright so no need for emergency trip up from the borders)

Marlec make a pole and mounting bracket for solar panel.
Delivered to your boat.

Well I've looked at their site and can only see the solar panel mounting brackets - no pole. If you have a link can you post ? Thanks

its the same pole the rutland wind generator sits on. the bracket fits on that and can be moved up and down to catch the sun, I had it on my trapper 500, worked great. contact marlec and speak to Lloyd West.
