Solar options

We have been living on our trimaran now for 18 months and almost entirely on solar power. OK, a trimaran has a lot of roof space to put flexible solar on. I prefer flexible, as the risk of lines getting caught up with those panels just does not exist. But it does have an effect on the temperature in the cabin, unfortunately... And I am waiting to see what their live time is...

One panel has meanwhile developed brown patches in two of its cells and needs replacing at some point. Mind you, warranty is 5 years, and we have more than enough solar, so I can wait till Corona is not raging through the world anymore.

One important point to stress is to use as many MPPT regulators as you possibly can. It does help to get the maximum out of the panels when some are shaded and others are not. I am using 4 MPPT regulators, and I should perhaps have installed even more...
