The MET office or as I now suspect ......... Enid Blyton.

5 hours bring bounced around like a bouncy thing...... Sigh!

Well, you've obviously survived and no doubt it will get more extreme with every telling :D

I do NOT exaggerate !

..........anyway there I was lashed to the the wheel with my mizzzen gone and no chance of a ginger biscuit or milky tea with a large sugar for hours, the moon appeared briefly form behind the wrack and was gone, leaving me with only the whistle of the wind in the rigging for company and a large albatross following behind.

More likely a Vulture.....

:)

So whos got two boats then.......Meeeeeeeeeeee

Presumably you were stranded for a tide on the wreck of Richard Montgomery, and spent hours trying not to cough, move, smoke or panic:-)

Trust me,I panic should the merest light breeze even gently ruffle the surface of the water......
The old boat goes on Wednesday to her new home in Wales boyo :)

and to satisfy certain old curmugeons who shall remain nameless this picture is not wonky at all.

Gosh you were lucky. I caught a brief glimpse of the moon this evening and it was a most beautiful sight low to the south west. A mere sliver of moon illuminated, the thinnest I have seen for some time.

Did you know that amateur astronomers have little competitions to spot the "newist" new moon and take pix to prove it..........

Hey Fred, are you going to be able to get that under Windsor and Cookham bridges?

erm....yes er no umm ? :)
It is very possible that excuse for a flybridge will be removed at some point. It is literally bolted on with a multitude of stainless hex bolts.
You basically ordered the hull and the deck format you wanted, which in the case of the "Broom" style version was a superstructure moulding with command bridge/ aft cabin or in my case an aft cockpit.Have the receipt for the fly moulding on file which amounted to the princely sum £251.00 excluding the wrap round screen which was extra..

Aquafibre.

The flybridge on those was really a docking bridge on not meant for continuous cruising.

It is about as spacious as a crows nest and probably a tad less comfortable.

The original order for hull, must have been a lot of money at the time
More than 2 years wages for the average working man ?

The bill must have been raised just a short time before Brooms bought out Aquafibre. Don't forget there was also an aft cabin version of your boat. It looked like a skinny Moonraker. In fact I think they made more of those than the aft cockpit variety.
