So whats up at Sunseeker

I have to say, this is the liveliest thread I have seen on here for ages, it has all the ingredients of a good soap, disagreement, wounded pride, hints at 'being in the know', hints at 'not being in the know', sychophantic 'botty kissing' (you know who you are), more ! more !

....I thought soap was mainly made up of chemical compounds containing sulfates and perfume?!

God, it get less funny the more I think about it.

I agree though, this thread does make for a riveting read.

mjf - Another 'personal' private message has been sent to you, goodness knows what happened to the last one, but I have been inundated with messages of support all day.

GOD, I think I am sending them to the wrong person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could whoever gets my messages PLEASE destroy them, they were personal to jfm

Adrianwool, it would appear you forgot to include comedy and farce on the recipe!

Westie is quite right to get his own advice and not from the forum.
Each to their own, but I don't see why.

The rumours/hints by jfm are not good since he is meant to be 'in the business'.

Bit confused ere. I know many folk close to the financing of several companies, incl s/seeker. I'm not starting any rumours, I'm just saying what i think, based on reliable information. (And, btw, what I've said is that there's no reason for anyone not to do business currently with s/seeker, incl deposit-paying boat buyers). It's 2010 and this is the internet.

I don't see any comments by him about the rather nastier situation with Fairline and their backers, but then in the past he claimed to be an advisor to that company.

That's because FL's wasn't a nastier situation. The negative comments on FL finacials were generally made up by people who didn't have the facts - rumour starters! So you say I have inside track on FL financials? Well, I paid 3/4 million pounds to FL for a new boat, about a year ago, shortly after Lehmans went bust. Some of that money was paid months before taking delivery of the boat, and some a week or two before. If i have an inside track on FL financials, yet I still took that exposure, surely that tells you they weren't in any financial difficulty?

Hilarious !

What an excellent thread !

Noone is questioning (surely? ) that the Boat Manufacturing Industry has been through a difficult period ... there are no longer companies around who were 'buoyant' 18 months ago.

I read JFM's initial response as ' S-Seeker are doing something about their perceived problems' ... It's not as if there are not enough rumours/tittle-tattle/nonsense around about their financial health - I'm amazed it has not been raised here before . His comments were (if anything) positive.

There are boatyards around who have looked to defer payment of debt to suppliers by 6 months to MY knowledge .... that is NOT in the UK.

I may be wrong but I guess you are referring to the support many have for jfm? If so then add me to that list. I do not recall reading any post from jfm in almost 10 years on this forum which sounded like bull****. He's been nothing but helpful when asked and has posted lots on here of general interest including many pics. The forum would be considerably duller without his input.

And I too would like Westie to confirm/deny any previous forum identities which so far he hasn't answered.

Adrian, I share LJS's view. Your comment is just insulting and I hope on reflection you withdraw it. As well as FOC help and friendships, the forum contains debates, and to insult people who were merely agreeing and adding their support, in the exceptional circumstances of an aggressive rude poster like Westie34, is very poor form, and as I say I hope you withdraw your comment.

The point is very simple, because someone such as Westie34 does not agree with the main stream contributors to this forum so what?. He has the right to disagree, I can't remember who made the famous quote 'I do not necessarily agree with you, but I will defend to the last breath your right to say it'. You have your views and loyalties, let others have theirs, used to be called democracy of thought I believe.

An exhange of personal messages has taken place between myself and jfm (and other unkown people, although one owned up), jfm comes across as a genuine person with good intent. So I am going to make a small apology in return for the one he made in that I was perhaps a bit too 'gruff' in my responses. Perhaps we could now end to this as I will not be posting anymore on the matter.

re the question of being on the forum I have explained that to jfm.

I'm off back to the lounge where it is safer, I only got here because my computer did not take me to my favorites page of the lounge and I had to log in again, otherwise I would never have seen this thread.

Sorry for any disturbance caused over here!

Cracking thread Grommit

..forgive me for pointing out what I am sure everyone else will be thinking....but the most aggressive poster on this thread was surely you...?

But if you do hang around here you will find that jfm has a true wealth of knowledge that I and the other non aggressive dwellers of this Mobo forum value very highly indeed.....

I couldn't agree more, I always look for comments and views from jfm, always very informative and helpfull, long may he continue to contribute.

So I am going to make a small apology in return for

You know what? That post and Adrianwool's post say loads about you 2 guys. To make no apology at all and just keep digging (AW's case) or to make an apology but qualify it as "small" and "in return for" something just speaks volumes about your characters. Of course you're both free to do as you wish, but people with integrity who make an insult like Adrian's apologise and withdraw it at the first opportunity, and when they apologise they do it unreservedly rather than halfheartedly Westie34 style.

In reply to Wakeup message below....

Sorry it's a FAIRLINE I am buying, NOT a Sunseeker, I just checked the paperwork, my mistake. I do apologise, seems I got upset about nothing, but they all look the same.

Errr, that was meant to be a joke to liven you guys up, it IS a Sunseeker!
