Sorting out the best schooling I could for my kids was one of the most stressful experiences of my life. They have all done very well so it was all worth it. However it is not right that some kids get a big boost to their earnings/development potential because the've got to a good school, and loads loose out because they havn't. So Steve I know what it is like to be "Mr Chuffed Bloke" as well. Hope your daughter will appreciate her good fortune.

Had an excellent Friday and Saturday with Peter Furby from 3M, our very own Jake Kavanagh and Dick and Paul from DMS.

Friday evening had Peter talking to a packed room at the Carlton Hotel about 3M products and the best way to use them to get that shine (very informative and very educational) then Jake stood up and did a slide prjection about the things you dont normally see in PBO and told us a little about the magazine in his style to get the audience laughing continously.

We then had a break which, and this really caught me out, had people running to the 3M products and not the bar ! Peter, Dick and Paul were bombarded with questions and were busy going through the products and more explaining on each one.

After the break Peter continued his talk but on the new Thinsulate material and its insulation and sound deadaning properties. So thin so light and so easy to install I am sure we all will be seeing more of this stuff n the future. We then had a free raffle where people won lots of 3M goodies and hen Peter and Jake finished up the evening together and we all hit the bar for some refreshments.

Saturday morning saw us all down the Albert Marina contacting people who had bught the kits (polisher, buffers, compound, polish, wax and cloths) so that we could do do some demonstrations on their boats. It seems we were a little too early for the general Guernsey person so we ended up doing some demos for the on lookers on my boat /forums/images/icons/smile.gif. Tony Rive came down to take some pictures and the differences seen was amazing. Most impressive of all was my hatch as it was scratched and I thought needed the glass replacing but a little polish and a quick buff and it was as good as new.

After this we went to do some demos on a blue hulled boat for the Guerns that were now out of there beds and Tony and Jake got some pictures of the beore and after effects.

All the other goings on in between will not be published but needless to say we all had a good laugh and my thanks go out to Peter and Jake for coming over and talking to everyone at the do and down on the East Arm.
