So how bad has your boating summer been.?

To date we had several overnighters early on in the summer at various bays on Anglesey / Menai Straights, even managed 1 trip out on mirror calm seas with all covers down. Since July have spent most of the time in the marina enjoying some great spontaneous times with freinds (that's what cockpits / bear fridges were designed for!).

Its been great for us, despite the weather we have managed to get out most weekends that we have been on the boat, and most weeks, if we haven't been out on the Princess we have been out on our rib, (much to the missus disapproval when the weather has been pants!) Loads more time to get out this year as well.

MF has been up and down, like a brides nightie. (Irish Sea).

Unfortunately not with us on board.

She's not to good at undoing knots, so needed some help.

So employing some itinerant no gooders, off she went on a wild tour.

She brought them from Conwy to Glasson Dock, to say hello to us.

Then telling me about the marina contract, we both decided it was total rubbish. The manager agreed.

Never mind said MF. If you can find some one to help with the knots and things, I'll take them to Pwhelli. It's only about 140 miles anyway, and I can have a bit of fun round North and south Stacks, But then round off with the Bardsey experience.

Right O. I said. So off she went. Well after we gently backed out the marina and took each other into the lock. We really did not want to part. It was like One Man And His Dog in total unison.

Anyway way just like a trooper. Off she went and delivered the itinerant crew safely to Pwhelli.. Except she was a bit to fast for the motley crew and had to slow down a few times and could not have all the fun around Bardsey.

She's a bit upset. But putting a brave face on.

The early part of the year was very good - I remember weekends in Yarmouth, Newtown Creek, Lymington etc laying on the sunpad with a beer. We had an excellent week on the north coast of France. Early August was also good. We've then had a 6 week work-enforced layoff, but all in all, not a bad season.

This year cant have been that bad we have racked up a lot of hours so far. We have had our fair share of gloomy weather but on the whole it has evened itself out and we have been on some fantastic trips. Being based inland we can get out in pretty much all weathers.

There is still plenty of time to make the most of this year. We will stop boating when we are frozen in and start again when the thawed out. Dont understand this boating season malarkey. During the winter we do less boating but we still make the best of everyweekend on board the boat.

All in all a great year so far.
