With all the advice given and taken on here. All the boats should be going like hell on Soltron, and with Captain Tully mending all the leaks, not sinking either.
So after everyones talked about the boat next to them that never moves.
Go on how far have you been this year????
Me about 120 hours.

Are we talking engine hours or sea hours? 1000 engine hours 2000 at sea.

175hr in 12mo. 1090hr in 7.5yr. At 30 USgal/hr, that's a lot of petrol and a lot of $$$$! About $49K I think? But that's about the extra I would have had to pay for diesel engines when I bought the boat new. And I guess diesel would have cost me about $25K for 1090 hr. However, $49K in the stock market for 7.5yr would have yielded at least $41K at a conservative 8.5% pa return. Would it have worked this way for me had I bought and used a similar boat in the UK? Comments?
