got a flight booked for tomorrow, if the airport opens, which looking at the weather forecast it could well do.

Yep, and I am due out tomorrow and I am hoping the airport remains shut so I can get my flights changed FOC

My son that you met in the shop last week has gone Ormering followed by sledging.

Where i live high winds and I estimate 8 to 12 inches but a lot of drifting with snow banks in the four to five foot range where snow has been blown out of a field and deposited in a lane or over a bank.

I have never seen the like in Guernsey before. Before I was born I think 1947 was a bad year.

Hello,
It is funny you are chatting about the weather in Jersey...I spent a full year in Elizabeth marina few years ago ( french trawler). As a - french - norman , I was so happy to enjoy the islands and friendly and fair people. Last, but not least, after 30 days of rain and cold aboard, it was in August, I decided to be back to the Med. I did it, Tunisia, Sardinia, Corsica, Spain and now in Aigues-Mortes where I have a villa and berth (currently for sale, thanks Mr Hollande...) In fact I miss Jersey and the Channel Islands. I am now in Port-Guillaume, west Normandy where I spend some time in my flat but with no boat in the marina. And there is also a lot of snow and minus 2 to 8 degrés centrigrades...Of course, this make me balancing again: north or south??? The difference between Normandie and Camargue is unbelievable. As well, there is also a lot of wind in this part of the french mediterranean cost and the weather is not very predictable...but have a drink in the flybridge in April without the Eberspächer running is not too bad...Enjoy the beautiful scenery of villages and beaches of the Channel is also great, as well sea food and atmosphere less artificial than in Med. Norman people use to say :" ptet bien que oui, ptet bien que non..." ( May be the answer is YES, may be NO) ...
