TG, confess - did you recognise it, or did you check with some on-line charts?

If the latter, you must be very bored!

I looked at it and said that it wasn't the Blackwater and wasn't the Colne (nothing like that on a north/south basis - its more an east/west flow isn't it), so is it the Crouch. thought that through nd couldn't think of any posts on the Crouch that didn't have lights in the middle of the water. Dismissed the Orwell and Stour and Ore on a similar basis and then thought it must be the North Kent coast. Thought about the East Last from memories of drawing the changes there and again no unlit post, so thought about it further west and so the Cant came to me, one of the same era of beacons as the Sunk and SW Sunk beacons. I recalled that you could almost draw a straight line from the Sunk Beacon through the SW Sunk Beacon to the Cant and you could almost do the same with the Long Sand Beacons - and so that had to be it. Unlit post in the midst of water was the clue. Blimey, it's really sad being an anorak init! Did you know that the Buxey beacon, Whitaker and former SW Sunk were almost in line? That's really sad.

How about a totally useless navigation facts contest? (I'm off to eat Shredded Chicken again - can't face Shredded Yams)
