Does any one know where we can get the bits to stick on to our dinghy with out having to take out a bank loan?
Also looking for fenda baskets. Any one had experience of buying these recently?

Personally I just use a length of rope.

I have a ladder and bathing platform and its relatively easy to rig up a loop through the ladder and then pass the two ends of rope under the floating dinghy and back over the dinghy from outside edge back to the ladder/platform.

When I pull the rope ends, the dinghy is hoisted up on to the platform against the transom.

Works pretty well and very quick to release, just untie the rope ends and the dingy is in the drink.

Just don't forget to attach the painter somewhere to the stern rail!

I bought some fender baskets recently the clamp on type. Not suitable for planing boats if you want to mount them on the bow rails 2 slams and there off. The thin steel rods snap very easily if your banging around, they are not substantial enough. Would suggest getting some made with a wide steel strap welded to the rails. Bit pricey though.

IBS are the cheapest that I know of. See Ad in MBM.

Not quite correct, IMO. We have the same type, but welded to a substantial S/S strip, and that bolted up to the rails. But we did have all the spot welds on the baskets redone.

Got the stick on bits for the dinghy from Force 4 in Poole
