my engine is a bit smoky not sure if its steam or smoke the cooling water is cool the engine runs good and starts first time it doesnt burn oil any ideas what this could be
every now n then the thermostat opens in the cylinder head & hotter water is injected into the exhaust hence white "smoke".
when i had a Yanmar YSE12 in my Co32 this happened every few mins
My 2003 and 2 other friends' 2003's smoke when idling, and steam slightly when motoring.
One reason for steaming, is that the injection elbow gets blocked on the water input side (it is black carbonised salt deposit) and doesn't allow a good water flow into the exhaust.
If you have a piddle flow overboard from a syphon break, check the flow - it should be slight, but if it is really p*ss*ng out, it could mean that the elbow is getting blocked on the water side.
