Hi,

I wonder can anyone tell me where I can get a copy of this one off episode that Smith and Jones did, when he invites his none boating pal away for a weekend on his boat.

I found the old thread on here that has a link but it no longer seems to work

Thanks for finding that. There used to be lots of boats like that with blokes like him. I think modern quality boat designs have got rid of most of them.

I bet there's still a lot of boats like that, with blokes like him! Very well observed.

One of my big regrets is dragging my wife off most weekends to a spend time on our cold boat, in the rain, when all she wanted to do was lie on a Greek beach. It was 10 years before I relented, and realised what I'd been missing!

Likewise, I finally sent the wife off to Greece etc & started sailing single handed . Like you I really did wonder why I had not done it 10 years earlier

I think I'm a bit like that. And I certainly know people who are definitely like that.
Should be mandatory viewing for every British journo to enable them to grasp what normal yachting is really like.

Fantastic, thanks for finding that. Class. Well observed, but gentle . Shades of the bit in 'Riddle of the sands' when Carruthers arrives at Dulcibella?
