Hallo all....with my Holiday 224, have got a nasty niff of petrol when she's closed up. Fuel tank under aft berth..had a look..no leaks at all, but vent and filler hoses producing petrolly niff..not pleasant if sleeping in aft berth. Is there a product to use which neutralises pongy hoses..eg a spray?? Please don't tell me I have to replace them as that would be a MAJOR job, 'cos you can't get at them at all easily!

I only ever got that when I filled her to the brim, once the fuel went down a little I never noticed it.

Definately no smell on my 224, if fuel filler hose has a split further up you wont see a leak, but fumes will esacpe. I should put it right quickly, you don't want petrol fumes at all.
I changed mine for the BSS, not that hard, hose about £30, the top of the locker in the aft berth just drops out for access.

Chris,
Thanks for that. Tell me more how do you get to disconnect the fuel tank vent pipe where it vents to the outside. How do you get to it?? Do you mean the hanging locker in the aft berth?
Thanks in advance

Yes top of the hanging locker will just drop down to reveal the filler hose, you need a double jointed back to get in there though.
The vent pipe is behind the gear/throttle panel, undo the 4/5 screws holding this on and all will be revealed.
when you get a new hose make sure its a couple of inches longer than the original, it will be much easier to fit.
