Dell quay dory; nearer 12' than 13', and fantastic boats that will plane with 20hp and 2 people.

According to the NJ state law, someone ages 13 and older can operate a 12 foot boat with any size motor. I was looking for one for my son. There are way more boats that are 13' in length opposed to 12' in length. Does anyone think that will be a big deal if the boat is a foot too long?

It won't make any difference at all about the other foot.....
....until there is an accident in which case you or your son could face action - or your police were to "pull him over" or whatever they do over there - and measured it.....
Not worth the risk in my opinion.
