To be fair, I'd say the Anderson is best towed by something like a RangeRover, especially after a slightly anxious drive with one in tow across the Dartford Bridge in a stiff breeze !

That was OK behind a RangeRover, but the owner / driver, experienced with towing caravans & all sorts of trailers, said he didn't fancy much less of a towing vehicle, an A22 with a 4 wheel trailer is a fair bit to drag behind and I suspect a boat nowadays will be well over the quoted 2,500lbs, with junk and kit accumulated over the years.

A large modern car should be fine, as long as the car's official towing weight is up to it.

In the original Anderson 22 brochure there's a photo' of one being towed by a then current Simca saloon, which probably had the power of a modern 1.1 ! - but I know Andersons used a RangeRover as their hack vehicle.
