Slight buckle in my helm

A picture might help. You have given no details of dimensions, construction. Wood, steel Cardboard, rubber etc? Or where it has deflected- ie at the shaft point or within its length.
Many forumites tend to omit details, which to the OP may be obvious, but to us are not. So you are not alone.
If it is a simple metal tube that is bent, then place a block of wood each end then a piece of timber from each piece of timber to form a bridge & then with a G cramp just apply pressure to the area in the centre. Cut "V" notches in the wood blocks first so they stay in place & screw the bridging piece to them as well. Gentle pressure with the cramp , checking as you go

Yes - a picture would be useful, but as it happens you’ve answered the question. It’s a metal tube. Blocks and clamps is the answer. Thank you

This post should go on for ages yet.
We need theories about rudder pressure, Dangers of straightening tubing. Use of pipe benders. Whether it was the top of the stock that was bent & the effect on the rudder & possible broaching in F9. Heat application. Local companies -200 miles away- who might do it in 6 months time, if they still exist

We need load more theories first.

I wanted to add 'like' twice - but there is no option.

Members are expected to be able to Devine all details, that is why they are asked - the reality if slightly different.

Its a common problem

We will not change the world - but changing posts on YBW would be a start. We don't need a picture - if the English is clear and accurate.


But to your second post - we definitely need the ability to offer a 'like' twice.

And maybe a rule - you cannot post unless you read every post first - then we would not get, almost word for word, repetition.
