The time is fast approaching when I will have to replace the A layout Centaur's companionway hatch track. Does anyone have any ideas or opinions? (Ducks and takes cover!)

I don't know the Centaur so can't comment but there was a thread recently about hatch slides and it may be worth searching out. It was a week or so ago.

Yes, I was OP on that posting and had been looking for tufnol replacement. I found Yacthparts (on ebay) were doing very long strips (2.7 metres). Only 2.5mm thick, but pretty sure that this will work for me. Not installed yet.
