Has anyone done the upgrade to the 5 blade from the 4 blade, and if so what was the difference in power? I've heard not enough to make the change, but with the boat out of the water now would be a good time to do it!

I have done it but have no special observations to make. It was easy and straight forward to do at least. Sleipner "upgraded" (renamed) their 55 to 60 so that's what they say the increase is.

Is it any quieter and/or noticeably more powerful?

I think so, but it is difficult to remember the sound level and power from before. I got a rope into the bow thruster prop so the prop hub got destroyed, so I had to buy a new prop and there was no big difference between upgrading to the 5 blade compared to buying a new 4 blade, so it was an easy choice for me.

We did the Qprop upgrade recently, our BT is, I think, an sp70 so had the 2 x 4 blade props. Have now fitted the 5 blade props, has it made a huge difference?..........no to be honest, it is still pretty noisy in the way thrusters seem to be so no noticeable change on that front, More powerful /......maybe a little bit. Was it worth £180?...... hmmmm that is a bit debateable, if a std 4 blade prop got damaged and you were having to buy a replacement then it might justify going to the upgrade but if your current one is fine then I would veer towards the "no don't do it" view.
