Sleeping onboard?

The odds against being crept up on while asleep in the fore cabin are minimal so you can relax.
Happened to me and the missus back in the paranoiac days of the Yugoslavian Federation. Anchored in a remote bay on the island of Mljet asleep in the forecabin we were awakened at midnight by boots on board and a Yugoslavian army officer already in the cabin with drawn pistol and some brutal-looking soldiers piling on board from a longboat. In the ensuing confrontation it was claimed we were in a forbidden military area - there were so many in those days that a book listing them was issued when declaring into the country. I proffered the book and asked the officer to show me the entry for this bay - I had already assured myself it was not there. He declined to do so and said in a loud voice, "Go". I went. But it was not easy to feel our way out of the bay and find another anchorage as it was a pitch-dark night, no visible navigation lights and before the days of GPS.
