.... Is there any evidence that pirates did use the JR or is this just another piece of Victorian whimsy? They've also used every other flag in the locker but they aren't "illegal" because of it. ....

Girls out....

I sail with my 8 yr old daughter and we always fly a large pink dragon and she thinks its great fun...

We only unfurl the jr when we come along side a likely looking boat...

Mummy is a criminal solicitor and she says that flying a flag ie the jr is not an act of piracy..... and anyway who's going to do anything about it, after all Somali pirates grapped people under the navy's nose......

So go fly the jr with impunity

ps at your own risk in France as they seem to have a constant sense of humour failure

Only time I have had uniformed french on board when we where in Grainville.3 stomped aboard guns and all, checked all paperwork and told us to remove the GR in no uncertain terms as they where leaving. The two girls where on board: 5yrs and 1yr.
