Text from Sixpence this afternoon.
he and Louise where having a day off from getting the pub going.
I think they were at Ramsholt as the text said that Sirenia was looking good.
He has give up the plan for wetting Sixpence's (the boat) bottom this year.

I must drop in to annoy them again.

Caught in the act :eek::o:D

Only take one day off a week and mostly this is spent collecting more stuff from Spalding, but we were delayed today due to the man that's tiling the kitchen and the man who is digging our mini lake at the front of the pub. Well it's sort of a stream really but as it's been neglected for years we decided to dam it and turn it into more of a feature

Progress is going well at the moment, even more than when you called in to see us, but it's still going to take some time to get the restaurant up and running thanks to the incompetence of the council planning dept. Grr grr grr

Still trying to sort out a date for the launch and make arrangements with Wingdiver but so far, since the initial renovation, we opened the bar on 28th July on schedule, had a cracking first few days, with a barbecue and entertainment laid on by Slowboat Saxophone on the 31st. Excellent evening for those that came along, even had some dancing. Thanks Duncan and Pat, great evening

We are now the village Wifi hotspot, which should help with those that can't live without the interweb :p

First block booking this Friday is for fifty people, with one caravan stopping in the grounds, so although we aren't yet on the list for caravans/campers we can and do accomodate them, if anyone wants to arrange a stopover with drinks and no worry about driving ;)

Haven't yet managed to get Duvel but we do now stock Peroni, please don't tell me this is more tourist stuff :o not sure so open for advice on this

We do have a large outdoor barbecue that isn't the normal rusting type you see at a pub, if anyone wants to arrange something they are welcome to use it or we can supply and cook if required. I make a mean burger so I'm told

Loads more going on and you're welcome anytime, open from 5PM on Mon Wed Thurs Fri, close after 11PM ;)

Saturday we do 12 to 3 then 6 to about midnight, well we do need to eat too :o

Sunday it's 12 to 3 then 7 to after 10.30

Sirenia looked good, mainly because she was on the water and Sixpence is stuck on the car park :(:D

Need to sort out the mooring for a launch at the start of next season, not sure who I need to speak to yet though, but at least I should have her on the water for a whole season and should get some sailing in, I hope

Hope to see more from YBW soon, might even fly the flag if I know a few are coming

Dave

Have seen the posts over the last few months and wish both of you all the best, HOWEVER perhaps an explanation why you waited until we set sail before opening the pub ???????????????????? Ummmmmmmm

Has to be said if I had a pub I would'nt let anyone in let them get there own pub this one's mine.

We will be back in the UK over xmas perhaps we can find time to pay a visit

hope it go from strength to strength and also allows some play time on the water next season

Neville & Janey

Great to hear the progress Dave, and fingers crossed that the council gan get their arses in gear.
Will be on our way down for a break before too long, complete with tent!

The pub on the right as you drive south thought the village of Hessett.
This is east of Bury St Edmunds and south of the A14.
