I immediately assumed that this had happened off the coast of one of the unstable North African countries. But, it says that it was well into the Northern Med. Corsica. I vaguely remember that there was a luxury super yacht seized by pirates in the Med about 5 years ago. I am pretty sure that that was off Corsica, too.

It says that they were hijacked near îlots des Moines and their raft washed up on the NORTH coast of Corsica.

Just googled and the previous incident I referred to was a bit different. More of a maritime mugging that piracy. 2008. Yacht Tiara. They boarded, emptied the pockets of the ship's company and zoomed off. They didn't take the yacht.
