sirena yachts of finland

i'm quite proud of this thread because nobody responded at all - not often that happens on here !

anyway, just went to look at a Sirena 40 - excellent looking boat for sailing. Great lines, cutter rig, running backstays, etc. Down below, we only stayed 5 minutes to be polite to the broker. for a 40 footer, two cramped double berths seemed a bit stingy. SWMBO calculated she would not gain any galley space, but in fairness the boat was clearly well put together.

The Sirena company no longer exists in Finland, there are zero others for sale anywhere in the world that I can find, and an e-mail to the original designer has come up with nothing.

so that's that, at least we can totally count her out. somebody will buy her and get a great deal of enjoyment.

Was it the one at Lymington with a pink grp moulding in the head?

A few months ago I looked at a Sirena 38 in The Netherlands; Lovely hull shape, though the aft cabin was better suited to trolls than humans.

Running backstays would put me off more than the pink heads.(could turn into a conversation starter /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

I allways fancied a cutter but two sets of jib sheets and the backstays would make for a bit of sweat tacking up a narrow channel shorthanded.
