I was thinking of buying something to siphon fuel from a Jerry can
There seem to be two types available, one with "bulb" similar to an outboard engine fuel tank and one that works by "wiggling" (!)
Anyone any experiences of either type?

All you need is two lengths of pipe(garden hose) one cut to the length you require from can to tank or whatever you are siphoning in to and one short length. Seal the lid/neck of can with rags and blow down the short length, the fuel will flow through the other pipe.

This is the best way, quite clever provided you can seal the top well enough to pressurise the container

For the 13 seasons I filled up the tanks on my V8 petrol powered boats from 20 litre jerrycans I used a Machinemart syphon pump; the larger version of the 2 they sell. It's fairly big bore pipework so transfer is very fast; comfortably less than I minute for each 20 litres of petrol, if I remember correctly.
