Hi all

I have a simrad TP22 with 9 pin plug.

Boat has (a not workng) TP10 with 3pin plug. I want to make up a lead with 3pin plug to 9pin socket so I can easily connect my TP22 to existing set up

Where can I get the plugs/sockets?

Here is a pic of the bulgin connector i need to plug into.
It looks like it says Bulgin 250.

And two pics of the connector from my tp22

Unless you're connecting NMEA data you only need three wires and you cannot be doing so if you are connecting to the 3 pin Bulgin socket. Take the 9 pin connector apart and just use the power terminals (probably all that's wired up) ? If not, the 3 pin socket looks like a Bulgin Bucaneer low profile socket, Google it.

These are Bulgin Bucanneer plugs available here and elsewhere:
Bulgin at CPC
The 9 pin has crimp terminals but the others up to 6 pin have screw terminals. The Simrad tillerpilots were usually fitted with 6 pin connectors but if you are not using NMEA input then the 3 pin is fine.
If you have a plug cap you use the castellation to unscrew the locking ring and remove the insert. The inserts can be exchanged so you need to make sure you have the right combination of pin/skt and housing.
If you have trouble sourcing the plug drop me a PM as I probably have a spare 3 pin insert.

That's a really great offer, THANK YOU!!

I've ordered a plug & a socket fro RS and will make up an adapter lead. Saves choppong and re-wiring. Who knows maybe i can get the tp10 going.. .

Bloomin expensive plugs though

You can probably find the service manual online. Here is an extract which might be correct. The NMEA input should not be harmed by 12V if you get it wrong so best to check it before you make up the plug:
