The cold cathode high voltage components failed on my main plotter in the summer. No problem thinks I just replace with LED strips - sorted. Fixed a big Raymarine E120 a few years back worked a treat.

Unfortunately the display is a Sharp unit. Took me 2 hours to get it very carefully to bits to learn there is only 7 mm between the LCD and the back of the LCD unit to put LEDs.
Fitted 5 strips etc result below:

Not great is it. Its not as bad as the photo suggests. Any suggestions to difuse the led light. There is a diffuser sheet in there already.

COB LED strips instead?
