Hi

I have a Simrad CE33 chartplotter and it isn't picking up any satellites so I think the GPS antenna or the lead to it is faulty. The GPS antenna plugs into a BNC connector at the back of the unit which leads me to believe that the aerial is just sensor - would any GPS antenna with a BNC connection work with this or do I need to get a Simrad one?

I was thinking on getting a Garmin one but not sure if there are any differences in them?

Any help would be appreciated.

I too have a Simrad cp33 which will not find sats, it has been checked out by Navico and its fine so they reckon that it is either the aerial or the lead, the cost from them for a new aerial is about 120 quid and the lead is about 30 quid plus p&p and vat

I am gonna just bite the bullet and buy both shortly.
