Is it just me missing something, or do others find the same 'feature' with these radios? I like to use the Memory Scan function to cycle through my memorised channels when not actually using the radio. BUT, every time I switch the radio on, it has not remembered my choices, but apparently randomly chooses a few to put in memory. Ny previous, ancient radio had no problems remembering from one session to the next, even over the winter lift-out! Others' experiences or a fix welcome

Possible that a permenant feed is not connected ,maybe the switched feed removes all power and memory cancelled. maybe your installation requires a seperate permenant feed to keep memory....just a thought..

Thanks for the thought, but as I recall there is no provision for a permanent supply and it remembers all the MMSI and last GPS position, so why not my selected channels?

Its the orange wire and needs to be perm connected to live feed, and off course ships ground. Takes about 0.05amp according to my little meter. Do a similar thing to the onboard CD player, and in my case, the Webasto digital heater controller

Ditto that. ICOM's software and implementations of Dual and Tri-watch, and their priority scanning are truely excellent. You get what you pay for. The S10/S15 are good functional low cost sets, but I dislike their awkward ergonomics and software. The only reason I tried the S15 was for the integrated Navtex option, which I found poor compared to wireless web based weather solutions. Navtex is so 1980's - like telex /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If it is of any interest, I eventually solved the problem after trying a few "try this" ideas from Silva. There is an internal battery to maintain user selected choices! Mine had been flat from day 1 18 months ago. Replaced with the latest 'Nexus' version with no quibble by Silva after I sent it back with a covering letter. And I was wrong about holding the MMSI numbers - they were disappearing too. Now functioning as I expect and I am reasonably happy with this budget DSC radio /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
