I don't think there is any Sigma 362 forum. I have wondered about getting in touch with other owners but never got round to it. Perhaps you're setting the ball rolling here ?

As regards information sources I do check the Sigma 33 smartgroup forum from time to time and also the moody owners club given the shared components.

a user group could provide me with some information too. I am looking to buy a Sigma 362 but have no information on the merits of fin or wing keels. If any body can expand on this or let me know where any information is I would be grateful. Thanks

I have a friend with a Sigma 33 which is one of a very few fitted with a wing keel. As well as reducing draft while maintaining a good righting moment / AVS etc it supposedly helps damp pitching and gives a smoother ride as a result.

This particular boat went aground on a lee shore a few years ago in a gale (someone else, not my friend, skippering) and stood upright on its keel for a considerable period of time, eventually being pulled off with only the rudder sustaining any serious damage . . . if the boat had been a fin keeler it would probably have been lost.

On the negative side if you do run aground you will find it much harder to get off again - you can't heel the boat. I can't really think of any other disadvantages - which begs the question, why aren't more boats fitted with wing keels?

PM me an email address. I have a wing 362 and have been through all the thought processes that I am sure you are going through.

Hi, I've just bought a Sigma 362, and was wondering if you have had any luck with finding an owners club for them ?
