I might be misremembering the capacity, it was twenty years ago! But it was unusually big as buckets go, can't quite recall why I had it on the boat now...

Filling a bucket when underway?
Chuck it - head down so it fills quickly - ahead of where you are standing.
Haul in on the lanyard and get it clear of the water before it comes abreast of where you are standing.
Simples.

I’ve never had any problems getting a good lather up using regular body wash or shampoo so I wonder what’s special about this stuff?

Should you happen to be on a modern yacht with a sugar scoop transom, the water retrieval technique needs adjusting.....

But you can also dangle your feet in the sea.
