Like most people, when I was searching for a boat, I drew up a list of attributes / features, under the headings of "Essential", "Desirable" and "Nice-to-have". After some refinement, the only ones which made it to the "essential" list were:
1. Must be wood.
2. Must be pretty.
In fifteen years, I've never regretted my choice. Always a tug on the heartstrings as I row away from her at the end of a weekend aboard (or walk away from her after a few days working in the shed!).
