Show us your wake shot !

A slight cheat as it was on D3Bs boat "Stilldunno" off of Oostende with my crew at the helm

45 squids an hour!!!

Nope. 45+ Gallons an hour.

Depending on where you buy your fuel, I reckon it'll be nearer £300 per hour.

That would make your raggies cry into their drink.

Bloke on the next pontoon to me has got 2 x 300hp Verados on his 10 metre Cougar.

Fuel consumption on that would make your raggies cry into next week :-)

But don't it bring a tear to your eyes as well? It would make my eyeballs bleed!:D

Look at it like this.

It's cheaper and probably (though I can't definitively confirm this bit) more exhilarating than a night with Sophie Anderton, and the Mrs. can come along & enjoy the hoot aswell.

Whatever rings yer bell mate!:) I much prefer the peace and tranquility of sail myself, but I know it's not for everybody. Being retired, I don't have to be anywhere yesterday, and that's kind of nice.

I can see why you might find it exciting, but what is satisfying about a bloody great rooster tail?
Funny, I can't see the exciting part of the rooster tail per se, but I do see the satisfying side of the equation - namely, speed.
Surface transmissions/props are the most efficient system known to mankind for going fast on the water.
If you think anyone would fork out the dosh necessary for these equipment just for the sake of some show off, you obviously don't know how expensive they are... :)

Well everything is relative, I is happy if I see 6 knots on the log!:D Nope I don't know how expensive they are, and I don't really want to know. What would I do with the information?

Obviously nothing, if you fancy - as I also do btw - slow speed boating.
But you said "Please don't tell me that I just don't get it, I know that, it's why I am asking the question".
That's why I tried to tell you more than ...you just don't get it! :)

I don't think I will ever "get it" Raggie see, heads elsewhere. I might be wrong, but I think the people here abouts with high speed power boats, possibly see them as little different to a high speed car? For them, it's about arriving, and doing whatever they do when they get there. Whereas for me it's about the journey, or passage, and what I see and do whilst undertaking it, also, I enjoy coaxing that last 1/2 knot or two out of the wind.

To put it another way, is the high speed motor boat, akin to a high speed car when at sea, and akin to a holiday home with all the facilities you would have in same, when arriving at the marina?
