Show us your favourite pic of your own boat?

Nice thread! Though, I feel it requires a touch of class... ;)
So here is our little girl! (judging by the amount of motoring we did last season, we may as well get rid of the flappy things and just call her a motorboat!)
Can anyone guess where this is?

And here's our wake shot! (With mandatory girl in the picture!)

Looks Like a Southerly 105 anchored off a spanish coast near Gib, I would guess from the courtesy flag.?:o

Oi, don't tell anyone over there, we can only use a Touch of Class here. :p

Well done spotting the boat!
You're in the right country (Not too tough with the courtesy flag!), but wrong area! The flag under the Spanish flag helps, if you can make out what it is. ;)

May I echo this.. :)

Looks like the Montsià in the background and the white ship on the right of the photo is a bit of a give away!!
If I'm correct, Roger, you have been on that bit of water yourself - in a dinghy though (if I remember correctly)

This looks a bit like the same place
This pic taken at the end of last week whilst the UK was being battered by wind and rain.

Hi Mike,

Still not sure where it was taken as the small lower flag isn't too clear.

Looks like Tim's old Jetski still flies. How did you get on with the deck mounts?

Now that is a 'Class' picture!

I thought you Vikings always anchored Stern To? :encouragement:

RR

Nope, that's the way it's usually done round here when away from the marina. Chuck the anchor out from the stern, tie the bow into a birch and claim the island to yourself.

But you're right, it's a different story in the marinas where it's more common to do it the med style. No rocks to avoid (and less birches :) )

Fab stuff Mike. Retired, but certainly not to old to hoon about! Love it!!:D:D

A few pics on this post

I'm afraid that my courtesy flags wouldn't be much help either - but they are probably the same a Cardos flags
These are mine after a long winter - have been compared to Tibetan Prayer Flags!!!

Now then Roger - do you remember popping out in my dinghy to a see restaurant on stilts just before you left us?

Tim's old Jetski did seem to fit well
The following pics show my "home made" wooden chocks and those S/S fittings on JW's bathing platform.
In the pics, the port chock has a couple of temporary blocks to keep it clear of the caulking that hadn't completely dried when I lifted the Jetski onto the platform.

And on the water

The crane seemed to lift the Jetski well - even with the dinghy on the flybridge.

In some of the pics, you will see a plastic Jetski Dock on JW's Starboard side which I got from a friend.
I am expecting to put the Jetski on the plastic dock most of the time when we are in our home berth.

Sorry for the thread drift - I will start a new thread on the whole Jetski project - I'm sure it will be interesting for some.

Yep, me too, they're pretty heavy. 300Kg? :encouragement:

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics/videos when we used the crane and we only lifted it about half a dozen times.
It actually behaved similar to the lighter dinghy.
JW leaned a bit but she does a little with the dinghy.
JW's crane is designed to lift on the starboard quarter and then swing round over the bathing platform.
And, as such, the crane can't reach/lift over the aft part of the bathing platform.
This has always meant that we launch and recover the dinghy over the starboard quarter and then swing it round over the bathing platform.
Never a problem and we can position both the dinghy and jetski where we like.
I'll explain more in another thread by, unfortunately, I don't yet have any photos of the jetski on the crane.

H, is the crane base placed right above the s/steel pole under the f/b?
And if yes, how long is the pole? I mean, just as much as can be seen, or is it longer?
Just curious.

The "pole" definitely goes further than you can see - here it is in the lazerette.
I imagine that it is properly bonded right through to the hull

I will start a new thread later today and we can discuss this kind of thing in more detail
