Short Rubbing Strake

Anyone got a source for a couple of rubbing strakes of the type in the attached pic.? However, I'm only looking for a length of around 40 to 50mm. They are to lift the genoa furler line off the coachroof at a couple of points as it makes its way from the cockpit to the furler. I don't want one of those "sticky-up eyes" that can be screwed to the deck - I'll just kick it off eventually. So I thought that a few rubbing strakes glued onto the coachroof would help reduce the friction of the line as it runs over the slightly-convex deck.

Think those are only made in fixed lengths of 8". You can buy stainless D section keel bands in 3m lengths and cut them down to length or more readily available in brass, again 3m lengths.

In our local industrial estate (and I am sure in yours) there is a welding/fabrication workshop that will make up fiddly bits in stainless steel including polishing for buttons. But as Tranona says, you can do it yourself.
I suppose there is a good reason for choosing to come over the coach roof rather than via the stanchions where you are less likely to trip over it?

They are certainly made in both 200mm, 300mm and 450mm lengths. The catalogue I have doesn't show who the manufacturer is, so I can't check if they make them in an even shorter version as well.

Thanks all. I was hoping for something with nice rounded, shaped ends, rather than a sawn-off look! I'd thought about shortening a standard strake, but like the ends on the pre-made ones. I suspect with my ham-fisted metalwork skills, I'd not end up with a professional looking finish.... I don't know of any local SS manufacturers and, being a lazy toad, was hoping to find a nice, pre-made online strake to click on

The boats a Bene 36cc, with fixed windsceen. Fuling line has to runs from a hole under the windscreen to the furler, so taking it along the side of the decks doesn't really help as it would still need to get into the cockpit somehow.
