Short Fat Wetsuit

I am after a shorty Wetsuit to fit a short Fat male. I don't mind if it is a woman's one so long as I can breath. I have a 44 inch chest.

Any advice greatly received.
I may even have to try one on in Tescos.

Get one made to your measurements if you want a good fit. Will be appreciably more expensive than Tesco or Decathlon though.

I am sure there are other places but if you go down the made to measure route then Northern Divers would imo be a good place to go to obviously depending on your location.

O'Three are on Portland Dorset, they make good wetsuits.

Or buy a cheap off the peg and some sheet neoprene + glue.

Decent modern wetsuits are extremely pliant. I suggest a visit to a surf shop or a chandler that specialises in canoeist gear etc. They usually have a good selection of wet suits. I found one that suited me Ok. I found a shortie that I keep on the boat for diving on the prop, when I get a snag. Fits quite well.

That being said I have had several full length ones made. A couple by Second Skin. they no longer do custom builds, but put me on to firm that did make me an excellent one. My current summer one was an Oneil one off the peg & being so elastic fits well & is very warm. Needed to be the number of times I capsized my Phantom

Being myself not overly tall (5'11") and not as svelte as my doctor would like me to be, I may be of similar stature and I have a Gul shorty wetsuit that accommodates my 'built-for-comfort' physique admirably well. Worth a look perhaps?

Take a look at Circle One - they have a good size chart, are tough, well made suits - loads of surf schools use them for good reason.
