........are a bit grubby after a couple of years - what's the best stuff for cleaning them ?

They're Arctic cable variants if that matters or not I'm not sure !

Is it the plastic outer you need to clean? If so (and I guess theres some super proper stuff that cost a fortune) I've always used a wet cloth and a little Jif eeeerrr I mean Cif....Showing my age now!! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Regards Paul.

Oh, have I missed something ?

Shore power leads do go grubby (and sticky) due to the UV sunlight reacting with the PVC outer covering - the same condition that affects the PVC inflatable dinghies.

Whilst a number of cleaning materials may temporarily restore the finish, the only real answer if to replace the lead.

I find that the lead that is in continuous daily use lasts for about 4-5 years before it needs replacing.

If you are confident to do the wiring yourself, purchase an arctic grade (blue) expension lead from B&Q and change the plugs - the prices are very competitive.
