Bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question here, so apologies for that, but for those with shore power, how long is your cable ?
Reason for asking is that I knocked mine up myself and later realised the cable I used is nearly 100ft long /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Don't see me ever needing a cable that long so I'm going to cut it and save weight, just not sure how long to make it

2 at 25m each plus a bag full of different ends to convert to whatever. Oh, and a Y Splitter, for whenthere is no other post available

leave it that long MrT its easier to roll a long one than extend a short one /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Boston Bank Holiday Monday,Fos Dyke following Saturday
cheers Joe

I also have a short flylead converting from the 16A to a 13A 3-pin socket so I can use power tools without going via the boat electrics.

Must get a Y-lead. At Bradwell there are 6 sockets on each post but 4 are padlocked and available for exclusive metered use (£50 plus leccy) leaving only 2 for occassional use and visitors. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think I have something similar. A 'regular' shore power cable, then a short lead with a 13 amp socket on it, then a common or garden extension lead. Generally the 'regular' shore power cable is long enough in marinas, but I usually need the extension when the boat is ashore.

Unless you have a fridge on board, or need to put a fan heater on, you won't need to connect to shore power when you are a visitor to a marina. I hardly ever bother to hook up when I go visiting.

As this has turned into a "my one is longer than your one", modesty forbids me from telling you how long mine is. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Figured that if the power was more than 50 m away then I could manage without.
Junked my bundle of leads of unknown age and quality and bought 3 x 17m site leads from Screwfix.
This was cheaper than buying the cable and plugs and doing it myself.

A little 13A plug to test the live, neutral and earth - from Screwfix, also highly recommended. Then made a 'gender bender' to switch the live & neutral around, useful for the pontoons wired by numpty's.
A lead with a 13A socket on the end also very useful

Have added a Y to my list of odd jobs on a rainy, non sailing day.

One 25 metre line with marina plugs and one 15 metre line with 2 pin plus a 2-to-3 adaptor so I can tandem them both ways. Also a splitter and an adaptor for a dirty great socket that you have to buy if you end up parked among the motor-boats at St Helier.

After including my standard extension cables I'm keeping quiet now too /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif maybe I need to lose more weight than I thought /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Orange h/d cable connected to a residual circuit breaker with 3 x 13 amp standard sockets.

Bought is a caravan shop.

25m, I have so far never used that much, but maybe one day.... maybe I'll just half it and savour the locker space. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
