Reminds me of a story I read somewhere about a visit to England by a Russian aristocrat 1800 or thereabouts.

After returning from walk in the countryside he told his host he had shot a couple of peasants.

His host replied that he meant pheasants and the russian replied "no, I mean peasants, they were insolent so I shot them".
