That will be definitive, thenEgbod is (technically) correct. I took the photo!
By the way, Tony has removed his blog and there's nothing there anymore. As fas as I can tell he still posts on FB and Twitter.Tony Smith, who took over shoal waters from charles stock, and has written his own book about travels on her, Sea Country, has put her up for sale on his facebook page. He’s looking for the right owner, more than just money.
He has a blog here Creeksailor or his fb page is creeksailot.
Be a great small boat for an east coaster
It panned out really well, thanks. Naiad is moored off West Mersea and I try to get out on her whenever the weather allows.I tripped over a page some time back where a guy had found a Fulmar hull and was making a copy of Shoal Waters. Don't know how it panned out.
I thought it was a hoogermaflip or perhaps an inverted wot-not but other than that I haven't a clue.At the risk of thread drift, anyone realise what the 'thingy' in the water is?

It looks as if it marks the end of something mysterious that begins at the Maldon Salt Company end on the shore?A clue: 'Maldon Sea Salt'
I've just checked through all the photos I have of Shoal Waters and yes, the jib looks like it is not the normal way up. This might be for two reasons, one it gives better visibility in crowded areas as well as higher sail area with congested river banks or two, he accidentally hoisted it up the wrong way. In 2009 Charles was 82.Has he hoisted the jib the wrong way up?
It is indeed and I am reminiscing and will be for the rest of the day. I'll probably also re-read a lot of his online articles and maybe even his first book. Not sure if the timing of this thread is a coincidence, but today (19th) is the anniversary of AC Stock's death, in 2011.
RIP
