Piers, try Andy at Greenham Marine in Lymington, he usually has some secondhand stuff in, I have rs 5500 gps, very complicated IMHO not as good as the newer stuff, I remember he had a shipmate Chartplotter at the right price that suits the old c-map cartridges, thought about buying it for the flybridge as I have a few of them, but bought old Cetrc chartnav instead.

Aha! Not yet. This is to have as a spare on Play d'eau. The power supply board blew, and it has taken an age to repair - Shipmate (Simrad) no longer carry any spares saying it's too old at 5 years (oh really?) - and in any case, all repairs are now farmed out to a 3rd party. Hm, not the best move for customer service....I suspect Garmin could teach them something about that.

All I want is a spare just in case.
