I am considering buying a s/h RS5700, but the owner wishes to keep the antenna. Does anyone have a spare antenna, or know if any other make will work with this unit, or even any company I could contact for same?

The aerials are the same one as Simrad currently sell for their current products (not the dGPS one!) the white stick one with Simrad up the side.

But before you install, check the output voltage of the antenna electronics, put an voltmeter across the BNC connector, it will either be 5 Volts (good) or 12 Volts (not good).

If your set shows 12 Volts then it will need to be modified to the lower 5 Volt before you can use a new antenna. A Simrad service dealer should be able to supply the antenna and modify the set if it needs it.

The only other thing you might want to consider though is that the 5700 uses CF85 C-Map and these are no longer available or capable of being updated.

Hightech.
